Adafruit Triple LED Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi - For HUB75

The Adafruit Triple LED Matrix Bonnet for Raspberry Pi is a compact and powerful interface board designed to drive HUB75 RGB LED matrix panels directly from a Raspberry Pi. It plugs onto the Raspberry Pi’s 40-pin GPIO header and enables control of up to three parallel HUB75 LED matrix chains, making it ideal for creating large scrolling displays, animated signboards, dashboards, gaming displays, and interactive LED walls.

Unlike standard single-panel matrix bonnets, this Triple Matrix Bonnet supports “active3” parallel output, allowing approximately three times more pixels and smoother performance for larger LED installations. It features onboard level shifting circuitry that converts the Raspberry Pi’s 3.3V logic to reliable 5V signals required by HUB75 LED matrices, ensuring stable and glitch-free operation.

The bonnet is fully assembled and supports a wide range of Raspberry Pi boards including Raspberry Pi Zero, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, and Pi 5 models equipped with a 40-pin GPIO connector. It works with popular HUB75 RGB matrix panel sizes such as 16×32, 32×32, 32×64, and 64×64. An onboard switch allows easy configuration of the Address E pin for compatibility with different panel types.
