7Semi TMP119 High-Accuracy Digital Temperature Sensor Module (I2C Qwiic)
The 7Semi TMP119 High-Accuracy Digital Temperature Sensor Module is a precision temperature-sensing breakout board built around the Texas Instruments TMP119 digital temperature sensor IC, delivering up to plus or minus 0.08 degree C accuracy across a -45 to +70 degree C measurement range with 16-bit resolution output over a standard I2C interface. The plus or minus 0.08 degree C accuracy specification places the TMP119 in the highest-accuracy tier of digital temperature sensors available in the TO-SOT and breakout module format class, substantially outperforming the plus or minus 0.5 degree C to plus or minus 1 degree C accuracy typical of general-purpose sensors such as the TMP102, LM75, and SHT30 in applications where temperature measurement error directly affects process quality, calibration validity, product compliance, or patient safety. This level of accuracy makes the TMP119 module appropriate for industrial process monitoring, scientific instrumentation, environmental reference sensing, medical equipment auxiliary temperature measurement, and precision IoT systems where the measurement uncertainty of lower-accuracy sensors would introduce unacceptable error in the application output.
Dual Qwiic-compatible connectors on the module enable direct daisy-chain integration into Qwiic and STEMMA QT sensor ecosystems without soldering, allowing the TMP119 to be added to an existing multi-sensor I2C chain with a JST-SH cable connection in seconds during prototyping and field deployment. Configurable I2C address selection allows up to 4 TMP119 modules to operate simultaneously on the same I2C bus without address conflict, supporting multi-point temperature mapping applications across multiple thermal zones in a single embedded system without I2C multiplexer hardware. The dedicated interrupt output pin enables hardware-triggered temperature threshold alerts to the host microcontroller without continuous polling of the sensor over I2C, reducing host processor wake cycles and I2C bus activity in low-power IoT and battery-powered monitoring builds where poll-based temperature monitoring would prohibitively increase average current consumption. Integrated EEPROM stores the sensor's configuration, threshold settings, and calibration data across power cycles without re-initialisation from the host, and programmable temperature threshold alerts allow the upper and lower temperature trip points to be set to application-specific values for autonomous over-temperature and under-temperature event detection. The 3.3V supply voltage and I2C interface maintain direct compatibility with ESP32, STM32, RP2040, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino platform builds at standard 3.3V logic levels without level shifters in most standard host configurations.
