WS2815B - 4020 is an intelligent externally-controlled LED light source that integrates control circuitry and light-emitting circuitry into a single component, with each element constituting one pixel. Each pixel incorporates an intelligent digital interface, data latch, signal reshaping amplification driver circuit, high-precision internal oscillator, and programmable constant-current control section, ensuring highly consistent pixel color output.
The data protocol uses single-wire return-to-zero (RZ) communication. After power-on reset, the DIN port receives controller data; the first 24-bit data is extracted by the first pixel and stored in its internal data latch, while the remaining data is reshaped and forwarded from the DO port to the next cascaded pixel — each pixel transmission reduces the signal by 24 bits. With automatic reshaping and forwarding technology, the number of cascaded pixels is not limited by signal transmission constraints, only by signal transmission speed requirements.
The port scan frequency reaches up to 4KHz, enabling flicker-free performance under high-definition camera capture, making it suitable for high-speed moving applications. The RESET time of 280µs or more prevents false resets caused by interruptions, supporting lower-frequency, cost-effective MCUs. The LED offers advantages including low-voltage drive, environmental friendliness and energy efficiency, high brightness, wide dispersion angle, excellent consistency, low power consumption, and ultra-long lifespan. The integrated control circuit simplifies the overall circuit design, reduces component size, and facilitates easy installation.
