ZLAN5103K RS232/485/422 to Ethernet Converter
ZLAN5103K is an RS232 device data collector and IoT gateway specially designed for industrial environments. It integrates multiple functions, including a serial device server, Modbus gateway, MQTT gateway, and RS232-to-JSON converter.
It features one RS232 interface and one Ethernet interface. The device supports both DIN-rail mounting and desktop screw mounting, making it compact, easy to install, and suitable for a variety of industrial applications. It uses terminal-block power input and supports a wide 9–24V DC input voltage range. Its compact design helps reduce installation space and cost while providing excellent cost-effectiveness compared with conventional products.
When used as a standard serial device server, the Ethernet port of the ZLAN5103K can be connected to an Ethernet network. The host computer can use TCP/UDP transparent transmission or virtual serial port mode to send data to the RS232 interface of the ZLAN5103K. Data received through the RS232 interface is then transparently transmitted to the TCP software or virtual serial port on the computer. In virtual serial port mode, existing serial communication software can be used without modification.
When used as a Modbus gateway, the ZLAN5103K supports Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU conversion, allowing a host computer using the Modbus TCP protocol to collect data from RS232 Modbus RTU devices. Conversely, the RS232 side can also operate as the Modbus master. The ZLAN5103K supports advanced Modbus gateway functions, including configurable ZLMB Modbus gateway and storage-type Modbus gateway, meeting a wide range of Modbus gateway requirements. Its multi-host function allows multiple computer masters to simultaneously access a single RS232 slave device.
The ZLAN5103K supports JSON-format data uploading and automatic data collection. Supported protocols include Modbus RTU, DL/T645-1997, DL/T645-2007, and various non-standard RS232 protocols. Users can configure the uploaded data format and JSON keywords through ZLVircom. Data can be uploaded using MQTT, HTTP POST, HTTP GET, transparent transmission, and various customized network protocols.
The ZLAN5103KN model additionally supports P2P networking, allowing devices to establish connections directly through an ID without requiring a server for data forwarding.
